been using since 6 but have in no way come close to using but a fraction of what LW has to offer today.
Doing some surfing for LW 2018 content I have found numerous artist whose work makes me antsy to do more and better work.

My question and request is that you will post a link to an artist or two and there work that gets your creative juices flowing in regards to what can be done in lightwave today - perhaps some method or use you had not thought of. LWGuru's is one such for me. Its a kind of why the hell have I not been doing this or something like it...

LW Guru is a vastly underrated asset to the LW community. Everything he does is 100% quality.

Just go to Artstation or CGsociety to get inspired doesn’t have to be done in Lightwave.

Anything Mark Warner posts is worth looking at and attempting to duplicate.

AND, no attitude nor politics. MW is pure win.

As an absolutely massive, life-long, Star Trek fan, and an even BIGGER Borg fan, knowing that Lightwave made all this is what drew me to the software initially and what truly excites me and drives my creativity!
(Jump to 1:09, and 2:30 for the Star Trek stuff!!)

Bryphi impresses me a lot. Do click (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYneG8wfyP8)for the comments exchanged between Brace Media and Bryphi which are quite revealing.

His stuff is always jaw dropping good. One that inspires me as well. I very much appreciate that he explains what he is doing an how. I need to find the time to work through some of his videos.

And yet, he doesn't seem to be a professional. Weird.

I think he just enjoys what he does ..and can do it with passion, thus his motion graph stuff comes out great most of the times, Just suspecting that he may not want to do it for a living, or simply just haven´t gotten the chance to do so.

There are those who can reach" professional" quality in the works...without even being in the field of work so to speak, by own choice or by surrounding factors.
There is more to life than working most of the times really.

It’s not that weird. Professionals and “hobbiests” for lack of a better word have different concerns and priorities. Professionals generally need to just use the tool that is best for the job. And they don’t always even get to choose what that tool is. When the job is over they need to move on to the next. A hobbiest on the other hand is driven by passion and can be inspired by a specific challenge and just explore it as far as it goes. The Wright Brothers were bicycle manufacturers who’s hobby was aviation for example.

jeric_synergy, instead of complaining about other peoples videos, please have a second look at your own contribution.

And not wishing to do him any disservice, but he seems a very plain speaking guy not afraid to tell it as he sees it, and some environments are not comfortable with that (probably their loss). Those of you who work for others rather than yourselves must have an insight on that, but probably can't say much for the same reason.

@ erikals, I think you may have misunderstood jeric. :)

Very good and informative thread.

Here are my 2 cents

Not as sexy as the new videos (from the quality of vids i mean) but it is amazing that so much could be done with that old version of LW and lots of people like me can not come close to making such imagery even when we have newer technologies and updated software.
