Hi everyone, someone knows the future of NevronMotion. Because Microsoft has confirmed it is no longer manufacturing Kinect.

https://www.polygon.com/2017/10/25/16543192/kinect-discontinued-microsoft-announcement

https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/25/16542870/microsoft-kinect-dead-stop-manufacturing

And others more web pages.

There are other alternatives for face motion capture, in Lightwave?

If the kinect will be damaged I cant replaced it.

????????

It was assumed NevronMotion was a dead product a while ago because there have been no updates and NewTek was giving it away for free with LW 2015.3.

Over in the iPi Soft forums, we had a related discussion. You can read it here:

http://forum.ipisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9863

In a nutshell, iPi Soft will continue to support Kinect v1 and v2, but they're already looking into alternative depth sensors. The models mentioned in the thread are:

Intel RealSense D400

Orbec Astra (https://orbbec3d.com/product-astra/)

Intel RealSense D435 (https://click.intel.com/intelr-realsensetm-depth-camera-d435.html)

The first two are comparable to the original Kinect (v1), possibly a little better but unconfirmed at the time.

The third one, the D345, is the one that interests me the most. It's not just comparable to Kinect One (v2,) but with superior specs: the depth data is 1280 x 720 and the frame rate is 90 fps, which makes it suitable for very fast motions.

As with the Kinect devices, iPi will probably support multiple Intel or Orbec devices for occlusion free capture.

I don't know what this means for Nevermotion but if LW3DG decides to update it, new devices will be available if they want to support them.

Thanks for the replies.
I hope that NewTek won't finish NevronMotion software
