Is 1.5 the current version of QuadPanels?

Just checking, because my (registered!) copy says 2010 and that's a while.

I just download from Liberty3D Again and it still has the latest version of 1.5.3. Where may i ask did you get version 1.5.5, not heard anything from James or Kelly.

Yes the link on their site points to 1.5.3, but if you change to link to read 1.55.zip it works.

Good to hear.
Thanks.

Thanks guys. Any idea what might be any substantive difference between 1.50 and 1.53? (Prolly pretty minor.) I'm not seeing a way to dl any upgrades, which I seem to dimly recall from the past.

BTW, did y'all see how the "Ivy Generator" guy has pulled his stuff, due to lack of $upport? Support your plugin writers!!!

The latest version I have is 1.5.5.

When I bought it a few years ago there was an issue with 1.5.4 (can't remember what now). Contacted support & James got back to me directly. Anyway, he whanged out the update.

Do you mean this?

http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/~luft/ivy_generator/

It appears to be available. I'm using it all over that music video project I've been working on forever. It's actually a standalone program though, not a plugin.

I've also used Pawel Olas's plugins for that sort of thing.

That said, I totally agree: support your LW plug-in developers. Even when it's donation-ware--in which case, I try to give every time the tool saves me a lot of time or money.

My mistake: it was actually a 3d Max plugin w/a very similar name. --Still, a good reminder.

Looks like this one was based on Herr Luft's work, but was not the same. An 'outgrowth'..... get it???

Anyway: if you are enjoying a plugin and can afford it, and certainly if you are making MONEY with a plugin, show some love to the writers.

+: I wonder what it would take to bring the Ivy generator in Greenlaw's post up to 64 bit. ???

++: Anyone got any comparisons/opinions about the 32 bit one versus the Blender offering? Rayek?

Blender has that?

I keep telling myself this every year: I really need to look into Blender. I download it from time to time, launch it, stare blankly, then close it and forget it for six months. It's a bad habit. :)

Anyway, yes, I'd like to hear more about this too. (Sorry, I know we're straying way off topic now.)

Sorry for the late reply. They posted a notification about it in 2014 some time here is the link to the article with link:

Indeed and the fact you can use your own panels is a bonus as well.

I should really try that. Kinda got the perfect, pro-bono (sigh) project to try it on.

That was indeed one of the reason to keep using it. The standard presets are great but the ability to make your own panels and such is good. I would like to see some more control over the spread and such and hope James will continue to develope and keep it up to date.

I'm not finding any documentation on how to use your own panels w/QuadPanels ....unless it's in the videos??

Poking about... in the QUADPANELS/SAMPLES folder there's a folder named PipeList that has some very simplistic pipes that might be used by QP to generate the Pipes preset, but I don't enjoy reverse engineering, so.....

::watches video:: AHAHA!!!! "Help" file is right inside the QPanels UI. :headslap: d'oh! :foreheads
