Hi Everybody,

We're pleased to announce that the LightWave Unified Physics Framework(aka UP) 1.0.0.0 is shipping. The launch speical price of $99 will end on September 22 at midnight Unified Physics means that you can simulate fluids, rigid and soft bodies, cloth and ropes, all interacting with each other using the same integrated tool within LightWave*Layout. UP uses NVIDIA's Flex library which means there's no Mac version available yet. UP will work on both NVIDA and AMD graphics cards. It does not work on all cards however, so please make sure to try our Demo version first before purchasing the plugin.

We’re using a new development model for this project. We plan to complete the framework by developing and releasing for sale a suite of low cost artist friendly tools. The first tool is called Squirt Gun and it allows you to interactively inject streams of fluids into your LW scene. The initial launch price includes the cost Squirt Gun and the UP framework. Owners of the framework will only have to pay for the cost of new tools as they arrive.

You can see what some users have already done with UP here (http://hurleyworks.com/up-gallery/)
And there's more videos on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/HurleyworksInc/feed)

You can purchase UP here (http://hurleyworks.com/portfolio-items/up/).

I tried out the demo a few weeks ago and was pretty impressed. I've bought in. Plugins like this give me hope and joy.

Why anyone would want to do 3d on a Mac is beyond my comprehension. From my experience, macs are pretty ****** for this sort of stuff.
I'd throw it away and get a PC if I were in your shoes.

Have you ever TRIED 3D on Mac? I switched from Windows on purpose.

Of course one could ask why do 3D on Lightwave with similar uselessness

Wow, that sure went off-the-rails quickly.

Can we please get back to talking about UP?

I like it ^_^ Nothing cool to show yet as I've had a ton of unrelated work on my plate. I've had a fiddle around and it's so easy to use, which is way too rare in 3D land. Anyone have anything neat to show?

congratulations for the release! looking forward to a mac version - once the flex software is released for macos... running with an nvidia 980ti on a mac pro here, is this card OK for UP? CUDA version is 9.0.197 on macs.

That's the card I'm using (980ti), but I'm on Win7. I assume it would run just as well on Mac?

Cool, but until I'm sure that this tool will work properly and without problems I will not buy this

I bought some time ago Advanced Placement and unfortunately can not use it, very unstable tool. For professional use is not suitable.

I have and hated every moment of it.

I switched from Windows on purpose.[/QUOTE]

Well I think that was a mistake or a poor decision on your part, if your reason for switching was to do 3d. And we all know why. So I'm going to save you the lecture.

And that's why I have c4d along side other softwares to compliment it.

UP can't be on Mac right now because it's using Nvidia Flex technology which isn't available for Mac at the moment. I'm sure if Nvidia decided to release Flex for Mac, then Up would soon follow.
