It's not all forgotten. The magazine highlights motion capture with the Kinect and Nevronmotion. They talk about other software for DIY and cheap price, but for the best results everyone should use Nevronmotion.

It's good to still see Lightwave in media-related publications.

Not sure where you got that last bit from, the article refers to Nevron as "uber-expensive", and warns it "may record your motion in a very jerky way with lots of outlier keyframes" -- fair criticisms, unfortunately. If anything, the article's general recommendation appears to be for the Brekel apps, not Nevron Motion.

Regardless, at this point any press mention of LW or related products likely helps.
