View Full Version : Stymied trying to interpolate how strongly a camera points at a target null

This seems like something I should be able to figure out easily enough, but no.

Pretty simple idea: I have a camera with a target null for it to point at. At one point I'd like to gradually reduce the directive to point at that null from 100% to 0% so the camera ends up pointing at it's normal rotation vector. Controlling that reduction through sliding a control null would be peachy keen but not necessary.

Is this something I need to do using an expression, or am I just being more knuckle-headed than usual trying to get the rotation controller interpolation in Motion Options to do what I want? I've RTFM and searched but thus far not finding specifically what I'm after.

Any ideas, pointers, links?

Many thanks in advance!

Mark

There are so many ways.

You can target something else at the null, and constrain the camera to that. You can set the null as a goal, and the goal method to point at goal, and use the IKFK blend. You can create the target behaviour in nodal, and blend back to value with gradient, and and and...

Thanks, Craig. Having a thick headed morning. Needed a prod or three. ;D

Yeah. It was as easy as it was supposed to be.

Ever have one of those mornings? Needz Moar Kawfee.

Thanks again!
