Hi Guys,

Iíve searched on the forums but canít seem to find an answer to my question, as I think itís quite a specific problem.

In our HQ we use a NewTek Talkshow 4000 to connect news broadcasters with our boats out at sea (I work for the Volvo Ocean Race, a around the world sailing race).

This means that instead of calling a guest into our show, we are actually the guest in the broadcasters show where they display the return feed which has the on-air overlay graphics on it. (See image).

Is there any way we can disable these graphics? It is obviously very ugly for the broadcaster to have those graphics in the show.

Would love to hear if anybody has some creative solutions for this.

Thanks!

If you click the gear on the top right of the UI in talkshow and disable tally I believe that will eliminate your issue. The tally function on the return will indicate if you are on air or off air.

I realize this might not be what you need, but for others.

There is also on option right next to the 'Show Tally on Skype Return' checkbox where you can change the overlay used. If you still want a tally image, but just different than what is the default one, create a 1920x1080 alpha channeled image for your tally and load it in here. For example, you could make an image that is just a red boarder on the edges.

Here is an example (the white area is transparent).

Hi Guys, thanks so much. this has worked. Thanks Kane as well as this will be interesting for to create a custom overlay when guests are being called into our show.

Much appreciate the rapid response!

I would like to reopen this topic, Since the last post we have purchased a TC-1 for our on the road tour. And we are now facing the same issue as before. I can’t seem to find how to remove the graphics in the TC-1 and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction.

So the question is: how to remove the Skype on-air overlay in the TC-1 Tricaster.

Thanks!

Currently, there isn't any UI for this, but there is still a way to change it. Replace the images found in:

TC1:
C:\ProgramData\NewTek\TC1\Configuration\Skype\

VMC1:
C:\ProgramData\NewTek\VMC1\Configuration\Skype\

Note the the 'ProgramData' folder is hidden by default.

I would make backup copies of the images found in this folder, just in case anything goes wrong.

For everyone trying to do this, I found the SkypeTally image in C:\ProgramData\NewTek\TriCaster\Configuration on the TC1.

The path you wrote Kanep led me in the right direction, but is slightly off!

Cheers

I looked up the path on my IP Series (which is correct), so I guessed a little bit on what it would be for TC1.
