The end of an era.


Adobe has announced today it will stop distributing and updating Flash Player at the end of 2020 and is encouraging web developers to migrate any existing Flash content to open standards. Apple is working with Adobe, industry partners, and developers to complete this transition.

way back i was SO into Flash... then they changed the scripting to Actionscript 3.0, making it impossible for most of us to continue scripting.
it was just too advanced, not user-friendly. a real shame, Flash used to be quite cool.

i guess it's HTML5 all the way now, but never got the time.

HTML5 is amazing nowadays. It's quite easy to do great stuff. My biggest problem is the choice of JavaScript/HTML5/CSS frameworks out there. Add the server side possibilities to these and you have a hard time making a good choice for the coming years.

agree, was a good reason for me never to get into the Web Design / Coding World.

just too many variations, too many new languages.

Yeah, that's weird. I'm pretty sure they announced EOL long time ago?!

They should cancel it right now.. 2020 isn't soon enough for that garbage.
