I really hope not, but the author hadn't been developing nearly as much lately for LW in any case. Not good to lose the home of those excellent plugins, but not exactly surprising either given the overall LW situation.

Shame, really like his stuff.

Here are ways to get the beta plugins still:

LW plugin db: https://www.lightwave3d.com/assets/plugins/entry/onmove/

If that ends up failing you can put the links in webarchive: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.pictrix.jp/lw/OnMove/index.html

Cheers

This might be helpful as well, the search results from all Pictrix as author in the plugin database...

He has gracefully kept a site to provide these mostly free plugins, but not done much for new ones I suspect, so the question is what is a bad sign, not having him doing new stuff, or not having the plugins around for newbies to get hold off.
Then again..it can be an incentive for the lightwave group to create better modeling tools with features equal or better implemented natively, and not worrying for it to vanish as Pictrix may have done now...............Someday :)

prometheus

Some pictrix tools are a bit old though, and is off lesser use or quality than other free ones, like ume_R_Polyfan, which works to round edges if you select a single point, it has a segment and scale option, but it isnīt live active so you can slide and change and see the results before you drop the tool, so there is jettofillet and truearts truefillet which does this better, though again..rounding edges or points should be a native tool really in my opinion, but the problem is when someone makes a tool that covers the lack of original modeling development, the lightwave team may not see the point on doing their own from scratch.

It would take quite a bit of time to rate and recognize which pictrix plugins is most needed, and not found as a similar tool elsewhere, and simply push for the lightwave group to work on implementing those tool if needed.

Right. I'm just noting that the site is unstable but the data is still there (for now). Now is a good time to make sure we have backed up what we need. Archive.org is a good resource (it currently holds both the UV creeper plugin and MOV videos) but may not retain everything after a site folds.

Upon deeper review, it looks like the site was either hacked or did not survive a system upgrade. It is now up to pictrix to decide if they want to bother with updating their site code.

Thanks raymondtrace, you didnīt find the 32 bit version of that?
I think I do have them on my seagate external disc, and my other desktop computer..but the desktop computer went down...so I just wanted a shortcut to ensure I got acess to them fast on my laptop..so I have started download them all again.

seems he had a HDD problem...

RAID mirroring
Tuesday, 2013/11/05 11: 30 am Melody comment is not accepted.

HDD installed in MacPro has gone, I bought two new HDDs.
The broken HDD is mirrored by RAID of Disk Utility, and the other HDD survives.
I unlocked the RAID set.
I removed the broken one and loaded a new HDD.
I want to mirror it, but when I tried to set up a set with old HDD and new HDD, I got a warning that contents would be reset.
Since I can not use it, I installed another HDD and built up mirroring of RAID with two new units.
And copy the data from the old HDD to the new set.
There was a tremendous amount of time.
Is it so troublesome? Do not you just replace the new one with a broken HDD?
I guess I made a mistake in the procedure. . .
I do not really understand.
Would not it be better to add a new one to that set without releasing the mirroring set of the old HDD? What?
Let's keep the old survival.

even with a HDD backup to another HDD one is not safe, the reason why i bought a Bluray burner
Bluray can now burn 100GB  (few buy it though, so some googling is required)

so these days >
- HDD
- HDD backup
- Bluray backup

remember to bring backups to a safe remote location. (theft / fire)
cloud backup is an additional option.

I bought at least 3. I also bought your modelling pack and a few others from you but your customers cannot download them anywhere other than by emailing you and hoping for a reply. I never bought anything else from you after that as I consider that bad customer support that there is no place to get the plugin or any update.

Why don't you get your facts straight before accusing people of not paying. Insert expletives here.

Ha ha, but that's not really true is it, the first hit is usually through friends trying to turn you onto a new thing, by the time you're out on your own looking for a dealer it's never free. But anyway, good line.

Not even close, the new transform tool Axis Scale doesn't have bounding box handle, doesn't snap, not the same kind of absolute scaling tool. LWCad Scale Snap is way better than Axis Scale.
