I bought new PC almost two weeks ago with ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 OC Dual 6GB GDDR5. I paid 1219 PLN = 323 USD. Now all 1060, 1070 and 1080 are unavailable in this shop and in others price oscilate between 1800-2000PLN = 477-530 USD for mine. It is crazy. Crypto currency go up and that how its ending. I had luck when bought cheaper.

Tell me about it.....:cursin:

I have been looking at GPU's recently, and as you say there is no stock.
Amazon list most Polaris cards as 'Out of Stock' or pre-order.

There was one card I saw as 'in stock 4th july' on friday for pre-order.
When i looked the day after, listing was gone (all pre-orders obviously purchased)

There are plenty of marketplace listings at 3 to 4 times the original price :grumpy:

Do you ever have any issues with used cards?
I have seen a used Quadro for a reasonable price, but was a bit reluctant, without a warranty.

none so far. i always make sure to buy from people nearby though.
so if you live in a city its a plus, just pick it up, skip postage.

You newer know if used card was baked in oven. I was doing this myself with Radeon 6970 and HD 4950. Both was working good few months more :D

note, you'd be fairly unlucky to come across this though. as a a wild guess i'd estimate of 1/50 do this.

There is prohibition in using lead as a solder and weldings are fragile, temperature changes, internal tensions.
Symptoms broken card looking as green, blue, red squares on screen.

One card i baked in special oven for electronic. Survived about half year and i throw it.

I've bought several used Quadros (and resold them after a couple of year's use each) and never had any problem whatsoever. Not so great for GPU rendering but they are awesome in the LW viewport. Way faster than comparable GeForce cards.

I have baked a card back into working condition after it failed, it lasted about 4 months before it died again.
