I can finally share Xvivo's first VR short piece I finished. Done entirely in Lightwave 2015 and rendered with UberCam's stereo 360 preset. Of course, on Youtube it's not as crisp... but what a fun, challenging project to work on!

Enjoy:

Wow wow wow! Amazingly great Lightwave work. I had no idea cells were so complicated so the video was very informative. Really something you should be proud of.

Great work! Very informative, and following the narration gives it a nice level of purposeful interactivity.

Thanks guys! We didn't know there would be a nice narrative to it. I'm glad they added it. It was basically winging it and show cool stuff. So we had a plan of what happens when to slow build it over time. But hard to say where someone will be looking! We didn't play with light focus on this... that might help on further projects. Or, just kinda keep most of the main action relatively "forward". Chilton... couldn't have done it without you and Kat! Much thanks.

mummyman, I'm totally pimping your video on FB, in the Seattle VR group, and to various teachers I know. Great work.

Is there anyway we can watch it on a Vive, or GearVR?

There seems to be a "UI kit" that is characterized by the look/UI of FFX, Instances, and.... something(s) else in LW, anyway, they all look roughly the same.

And they are CRAP.

It's been a while, but IIRC the crapitude is strong especially in the list management/RMB capabilities of tha particular "kit"-- many missed opportunities and flat-out convention violations there. That approach needs a VERY hard look, because it's pure bush-league stuff.

On gear, you should be able to view it streaming through YouTube. Vive.. probably the same. We don't have a downloadable version available.
