We are testing NDI Camera on some iOS devices. It works and looks good, except we are getting REALLY low frame rates. Are they are published specs as far as what hardware/network type to get 20-30fps video out of it? We are on a locos network for these tests.

Thanks,
Scott

There are not published or recommended network gear for this, but here are some things that you can look into.

First you want to use a high performance WiFi base station, not the cheapest unit you can find on Amazon. It should offer 802.11ac speed, but 802.11n should be the minimum. Also, units with multiple antennas and offer a feature called MIMO support are good to have. Make sure the unit has Gigabit Ethernet ports on the wired side of the base station.

Other things that might play a role, but you need to test. These might help is some, but not all cases.

- Try testing the 5Ghz band over the 2.4Ghz band.
- Use a WiFi spectrum analyzer (like inSSIDer or NetStumber) and see if there is a better channels to use for your WiFi.
- Try setting your channel width to 40MHz instead of 20MHz.
- If you are using WPA security, make sure it is WPA2 only with just AES encryption (this can offer better performance than TKIP encryption with some devices).

Also, make sure that anything that you don't need using WiFi is turned off.
