Hey Everybody,

I need to build some pretty specific Selection Sets so I can select this specific groups of points for various reasons. The model I'm working on is somewhat complex and it's proving very difficult to select all the points I need before I accidentally click on the wrong thing and I mess up the selection before I can save the points to a selection set.

Is there a way to create a Selection Set and than be able to add more points to it later?

Thanks in advance,

What happens if you save the new set with an existing name? Does it replace the existing selection set, therefore in effect adding to your selection set.

Hey Ernpchan!

Thanks! That worked. I'm kind of surprised because I thought I tried that in the past, but I guess I remembered wrong.

The only hiccup is I had a hard time trying to find out how use the Selection Set to actually select the points. It's in Selection\Maps\Select by Map :D

Thanks again,

You can also use the statistics panel to select a selection set.

Thankss Madno! That worked too. I tried to do that from the Point Statistics Panel, but I did not see it. Thanks for pointing it out! :D

Yup: Stats panel. What I don't like, UI wise, is S.Sets come in as a menu, and Menus Are Slow.

Being able to simply CLICK on a list would be much faster, more intuitive, more 'flow-y'. You would also be able to SEE what sets are available, w/o having to g.d. click all the g.d. time.

I wouldn't be surprised if RH or Sensei has something that implements S.Set List Selection.

If you would like to have multi-level temporary point/edge/polygon selection presets,
TrueArt's Modeling Pack http://modelingpack.trueart.eu
has tools Selection Preset Manager

and TrueSelect
