View Full Version : Render problem with tranparency

Hi everybody,

got a weird issue trying to follow this (http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/content.php?154-3D-Volumetric-Planetart-Clouds) tutorial on faking volumetric clouds but I ran into a problem with the transparency. The tutorial has 20 polygons stacked on top of each other with a transparency map and the first render after applying the map looks like this:


But when I do it, this is the result:


The transparency does not work correctly, but I did figure out it works right if there are only 4 polygons stacked instead of 20. I took the top 16 layers and moved them off to the side and I get this. It looks like it is working correctly with 4 polygons but if I move over a 5th one they all turn black. Ive tried it as a clip map, tried saving each polygon as a different layer and different objects, but cant figure it out. Any other things I could check?

Increase your Ray Recursion Limit.
