Hi,

occasionally there are threads about system slowness or stuttering etc.

I for example had dropouts when using a midi keyboard to drive the Pianoteq virtual piano software.

I learned that latency issues of drivers are often the cause.

Found the free tool "LatencyMon". It seems to be the inoffical debugging standard used by sound people.

Download link is near the bottom of the page.

In my case LatencyMon showed that ndis.sys generated high latency. Ndis.sys belongs to the networking subsystem, so I downloaded the latest Intel drivers for my network card. And voila, the dropouts were gone.

Maybe LatencyMon might help others as well to identify system issues.

I read about the hard pagefaults. In my case they are not harmful.
