Im shore there was a function in early versions of Lightwave called "Squarize" which when you
applied it to an object it would try to give your object a square shape.

Does not seem to be present in LW 15.3.
Anyone else remember it?.

A good example of scattered code. Squarize, quantize, spherize should be integrated into one tool.

Background Conform (BG Conform)
The Background Conform function is available through the Legacy plugin Spherize.p. To install it
and get the use of BGConform, Spherize and Squarize, use the Add Plugin command. To add it
to your Modify tab, use the Edit Menu function( Alt F10). This function will take an object in the
Foreground layer and fit it to an object in the Background layer.

you can implement SPHERIZE.p and SQUARIZE.p (etc.) from older versions (9.x) in LW 2015 ..

Thanks for detailed info.
Found Legacy zip file opened it.
In the modeler folder i saw 3 Spherize files and installed them into
Modeler.
While looking at the Edit/Edit MenueLayout/command list i saw both Spherize and Squarize listed.
Placed them both under "Transform" and both function ok.

Fit to background did not do exactly as id hoped as it simply resizes the foreground object to fit the background object in any or all xyz.
[I wanted a globe to conform to the shape of a cube].

However i remembered about Lightwaves own Heat Shrink feature and was able to shrink a globe around a cube.

The issue i had was that a standered basic cube when used with a new plugin i have kept crashing Lightwave.
Replaced the cube,to serve the same purpose, with a sphere and Lightwave did not crash.

A cube is the perfect shape to use so needed a way to turn a sphere into
a cube shape and as it turned out Heat Shrink did the best job.
But glad to have Spherize and Squarize back in Lightwave if only for old times sake.
