My current project calls for animated models of CDs.
I am stuck trying to re-create the "diffraction-effect" caused by light hitting the surface of the CD.
Anybody been there or have any ideas?

Thanks,
George Sivy

Try gradients with Incidence angle and the ThinFilm and Interference shaders. Works from certain angles, but is far from perfect. Real diffraction (alon with many other useful effects) with Spectrum from http://www.evasion3d.com
