Hi all,

I would recommend to LWgroup to be able to import iges files and maybe step to give an easy render solution to mechanical objects. Iges is an standard surface file format that almost every surface or parametric package can export to.

Also, a preview of the teselation from the iges would be good (if you import to modeler) or a dynamic modifier for teselation (if you import to layout), where you would be able to increase or decrease details.

If you consider mechanical renders, with the ability to import surfaces, a built-in surface shader's bevel is almost mandatory to get good results. So would not be necessary to always add the dpont's edge bevel node to all surfaces.
