View Full Version : Looking for ~10 basic civilian characters.

Does anyone know of a place to purchase around 10 civilian type characters. Just people in regular clothes like you'd see at an airport or public place. I need to populate an airplane with a few people for a couple shots of animation. I'm not having any luck really finding anything. The only ones I find online so far look way to poor quality or are 3d scans that I can't pose.

I know there isn't likely anything all ready to go in .lwo but hopefully I can get the .obj converted ok into quads.

Thanks for any advice!

DAZ Studio exports to obj, collada, and fbx

I haven't seen DAZ Studio before, it feels like Poser in a way. Thank you for the info.
I could see how that could be a solution, but maybe not under the time constraints I'm under. I found this, but it's 3dsMax. It's kind of what I am looking for though. I wish they were a bit more business and had both male and female, but it's the idea.

I can also vouch for axyz characters - use them a lot and the the HD2 characters are great quality.

if you got rigs for axy character, that may be the way to go..you would have to animate though.
For daz studio..you just need to purchase additional clothes or find free clothes, since it is a bit limited in the free cloth department, a good thing with daz though, you can use animate for walks.export out the whole walk as it is, or export out a walk in place, if you lock the hip in daz studio to make it walk in place, then in lightwave make it follow a path.

Or just export without animation and animate a cycle in lightwave.

I purchased a few packs on the axyz site. I'll have to make up a quick rig or modify one I have for other characters to fit. Hopefully that works. The topology looked pretty clean on the previews so I'm hoping the models import/open fine.

I do like the daz studio site, I just think that may take a bit more time than I am willing to invest at the moment.

Unless you require real closeups, those from the ADCG should suit...
