Anyone knows how to get rid off or hide the original 3D-model that is used as a role model for instancing?

I used a small disc to replicate for a simple disc-storm moving into the camera. But the small original disc is visible and left behind when all replicated discs are moving away to end up somewhere far behind the camera.

I have tried to hide the original disc but then all the replicas are invisible as well. So there must be another way but unfortunately Lightwave has done it again by making the easy and simple things hidden and impossible to know how to fix if you are not one of the "gifted". By gifted I mean a technician that take simple things for granted since its simple for him/her who have done it a thousand times in the sleep when finishing of the "user friendly interface" :D

uncheck the active column (A) of the object in the scene editor.
