I already bought it!

Testing with 802.11n and 802.11ac!

Great app by the way.

So far so good! Although, XSplit seems to trip over teh audio signal. The NDI Video Monitor is able to pick up live audio with video, but XSplit seems to get random bursts of audio.

any news about when the iOS version will be available? As quickly as the Apple Store can process the request to make it public.

Issue: It would be wonderful to not only have access to Cameras, but screens... in other words, would be very helpful to stream active apps.

Any chance of a future where that happens?

Thanks for the update, I will keep a lookout for it. I am happy with the app I am currently using, but it's nice to have options.

Steve,

Any reason to hope for a future where you can send your screens in place of camera?

Please note that I have split posts related to issues with iOS or Android apps into two threads in the General Discussions subforum, to avoid confusion when discussing the different phones and apps.

ChadWell, we've just released, so a bit early to be thinking about upgrades (and we never pre-announce anyway), but I will keep the feature request in mind.

It doesn't look like you can record directly onto the iOS device while using the app. Is that something that might be eventually possible?

I'd never say never, but it's not really intended for that and NDI is pretty big, so I'm not sure how practical it would be. (Obviously, there are other NDI capture solutions.)

Nice app. I'm using it on a Galaxy S Tab. but the image is anamorphic on Tricaster 410 AE :hey:

We really have very limited control over what format the camera sends, as various devices impose diverse restrictions; but if the result on TriCaster isn't what you're hoping for, you can correct it in an M/E or DSK.

Can we use the ndi camera app also with the dji osmo mobile or dji osmo+

this would be a great feature.

I do not think this would be feasible, but the developers of osmo might be able to do it using the NDI SDK.

I believe the osmo-mobile is just a gimbal for an iPhone, so assuming the gimbal motors don't interfere with the WIFI, osmo-mobile could be OK, using NDICam or NDI Camera apps on the phone.

Looks like the osmo-plus includes the camera, so that one is not necessarily viable unless the DJI monitoring iPhone app was modified to pass images on via NDI.

We are loving our Osmo mobile with NDI on the iPhone7

Would be feasible if NDI Camera were enabled to send Screens in addition to camera. ;)

As far as I am aware iOS apps are NOT able to access the content of the screens of other apps. It's a fundamental security limitation by design. That's why our own WebNDI app which sends web browser content via NDI includes the actual web browser within the app - so it has its own content to send, not content from another browser app.

You can use Apple AirPlay (with mirroring) to send an iOS screen to a TriCaster. NewTek Connect Pro has support to receive this format, then it will be converted into NDI for any TriCaster system to access the source. I've also got a workflow that works using NDI Scan Converter and a 3rd party product called 'AirServer'.

The other workflow documentation can be downloaded from http://bit.ly/kanesworld under Whitepapers called 'AirPlay Mirroring into TriCaster'

We run a tricaster mini with HDMI input, so if you want iphone screens to tricaster then try using Apple tv in between, it receives whatever you have on the iphone wirelessly if on same wifi network, then hard cable hdmi to tricaster

Does the WiFi router needs to be Gigabit?

kanep

I would highly recommend that it be Gigabit. Beyond that, you want a unit with a high performance WiFi access point, wireless-N as a minimum, but 802.11ac if you can get it. A unit with MIMO would be recommend as well. Having access to the 2.4G or 5G spectrum can be a benefit as well so you have more options for spectrum availability.

KaneP or PIZZAZ - any update on using the Osmo over NDI or such for live shots into Tricaster? I saw the OZJIB, a 12' single-pole lightweight portable jib for the Osmo at NAB and thought that this could be an AMAZING new way to provide true jib shots at a whole new portability and price point. But the trick is getting out of the Osmo and into the Tricaster. Thoughts? Workflows? Gear?

Can't use the Osmo camera itself since it cannot encode and stream in any way last time I checked. Slap a spare iPhone on the Osmo Mobile version and get after it. Just use the Newtek or Sienna NDI iPhone app to send the video to the TriCaster.

The other way is not near as simple but it might work for your application:

Standard Osmo --> Osmo Wired video adapter into ---> CrystalSky monitor then HDMI out into --> HDMI to NDI converter of choice, personal choice of mine is our NDI Viewfinder converter.
At least this way keeps all your signal flow on hardwired connections.
