Here is something very interesting coming from NewTek HQ - 3D User Interface Designer. Link here: http://www.newtek.com/company/careers.html#d3-user

Snippet: "Design product models and mock-ups that are used to demonstrate and support the development of user interface designs, and perform associated 3D modeling and visualizations, for web sites and other three-dimensional (3D) applications, including responsibility for the writing of work flow specifications for product design and development; the provision of development support for software personnel engaged in the implementation of product designs; the coordination of design activities with internal and external stakeholders (including customers, internal experts, and sales/marketing and development personnel); and the use of applicable design software and development tools."

What happened to Matt?

Well, before anyone starts leaping to conclusions, one possibility is that they realized there was too much work in that role for one person, and they needed to hire another person for that role. Another possibility is that Matt moved to a more senior position, and now they need to hire a replacement for his original position. I'm just saying we shouldn't presume this means Matt is no longer at LW3DG.

He got tired of waiting for LW to come out and went to work at AD.

I'm pretty sure he's just fine. At least he was still hard at work at his desk when I left the office this afternoon.

Maybe Brad Peebler snuck in at closing time and kidnapped him to work on a new 3D app.

Matt moved back to Texas recently but still works for Newtek. The fact that the position is for Texas doesn't mention Lightwave could suggest its for another NT product and not necessarily LightWave.

That ad is dated June-01, 2016.
If the position has been filled, wouldn't it say so?
If not filled, does it normally take more than 4 months to find someone in that field?

Besides, the post if for Newtek on Newtek site, it does not specifies that it is for LW3DG, and there no such offer on LW3DG site, so I guess we cannot draw conclusions, here.

Oh no! We have two threads(at least) already where we speculate and waiting for imminent doom.

What about my interface needs?

well they must have someone else as I know he has been doing something different for the last two months, that also could mean that area is ready for release and the delay is just in another area, but I can say he is still quite involved

That is for Newtek, not Lightwave 3D Group which is based on another location (near Glendale/LA if I remember correctly)

You'll find those here: https://www.lightwave3d.com/careers

That position of more likely for their other products.

its probably for the NDI as that seems to have taken off quite well looking at all the shows and FB posts

Oh, no. First we hear rumors that Matt left and now we see Steve announcing that he is leaving this afternoon.

This is a shocking turn of events.

Thatīs just indications of hard working and at overtime, or the job is so fun you just canīt quit, until the wife calls for some home duty.

hrgiger is now head manager of LW3DG. His short tenure as a modeling programmer impressed Tim Jenison so much that he decided no other staff was neccecary to keep lightwave moving forward. As we speak, hrgiger is re-writing the entire program and plans to have it published and ready for sale by friday. Rumors tell me he's already done and he's just working on promo.

unfortunately he has to hold off for 52 months while he creates the content folders. so the promo will just be an early bird 2015.3 then free upgrade

A reliable source informs me that they gave hrgiger Matt's login details and that Matt was seen being escorted off the premises before the above was posted.
