I'm attempting to use TEXTURED BACKGROUND and it uses olde-school layers (although I could maybe sneak in some nodes...), and I should know this anyway:
134532

The idea here is to use two different turbulent layers, and fade between them using a gradient layer w/PITCH as the input. However, although the G layer is set to alpha, no combination of either color or alpha I've attempted has any alpha channel-like effect on the final "sky-ball".

Is this setup correct???

SOLVED! Putting the gradient at the TOP of the stack made it work as an alpha mask.
