With a 4 channel TalkShow is it possible to use it to screen calls? Like you'd have a Skype phone number for call-in's and use 3 channels to park and screen calls, and then the 4th channel as your "on-air." Does that make sense? Will this product do that? Is it possible to have a person who can answer the calls "off-air"?

There can be a lot of different setups, but typically you might have all four calls connected, an operator able to track to any of all connected callers at will, and determine which call(s) to direct to air using your downstream gear (such as a TriCaster).

I would suggest you contact a NewTek Dealer and arrange a in person demo.

Hi Bryan,

Basically, yes to the questions. The VS4000 operator can have a quad-split screen to view all 4 callers at once, and can use a connected headset for private TalkBack to any of the callers individually or as a group.

Thanks

We have a product specifically designed for call in style productions. Our product Call-In Manager (http://www.gnuralnet.com/call-in-manager) gives video producers all of the call screening and routing capabilities that 'talk radio' stations use to bring guests on-air, but re-imagined for video.

Callers connect directly from a Chrome browser to a call screener using Call-In Manager, and can then be sent to one of our LiveToAir products (http://www.gnuralnet.com/livetoair) to feed your TriCaster (using either SDI or NDI). If you are bringing multiple guests on air, LiveToAir provides automatic mix-minus for the audio sent with each of the return video feeds.

If this looks like an interesting possibility for your production just shoot me an email or give me a call (609-223-2434) to discuss in more detail.

Best,
John
