I have 2 TS100 set up for live remote calls for student reporters during a live newscast. Students are using their iPhone/android phone to call in to do a live report offsite. They are connecting a microphone to a 3.5mm to XLR cable (similar to

this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TE4KNK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2LXBKOLL3J3K6)). If the reporter is able to use wi-fi, the call is clear and usable. However, if they are using cellular data for the call, the call comes into the unit with really bad static noise and the audio is unusable. Could the cable going into the headphone jack of the phone be causing the problem? Would anyone recommend a particular brand of adapter for this type of setup?

The adapter does not cause any problems when the reporter is recording a video straight to their phone. This only happens when trying to call in via Skype.

Advise, thoughts, tips?

Thanks!

Could you post a short example of the type of noise you're hearing?
