I had purchased LWCD 5.1 a few months ago not realizing the LWCad Models wodl nto work in LW 11.6 (layout) I finally upgrade to LW2015. The LWCad 5.2 install when well. I created a simple LWCad box and rounded one edge. When imported to layout all I see are triangles unlike all the nice wire frame renders on the LWCad website specificallyt the bike by Steve White.

I found no information on how to achieve the render effect as seen on some of the wire mesh models posted to the LWCAd gallery.

What am I missing?

I believe I figured it out, under the object properties Edges tab. DOH.

here I was thinking that Layout woudl actually recognize the LWCad object without it being converted to triangles a wee bit of disappointment. but hey hopefully it will happen soon.

I haven't installed it in a while as I had a computer rebuild a while back, but wasn't there something in layout, under the object properties tab, a plugin you loaded so nurbs objects would display and render without any manual conversion?

I seem to recall some part of the plugin you had to activate in within layout unless I am mistaken.. So many plugins that I cannot remember... :-)

Since I was going to create a post to ask a LWCad question, I might just ask here instead. How do you create your own presets, doors and such? I haven't found any information on how to do this.

if it is the same as 4.5 there should be a button to add to archviz, there is a tutorial on his you tube site as you can set certain fixed size parts and hove other parts stretch to fit new models,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCzW4I92YCU
this is the 4.1 tutorial but it is exactly the same for arch viz lib in 4.5

No need to convert to triangles. LWcad nurbs should show up and render fine on layout. Nurbs divisions depends how much you set it in modeler LWcad options. You need to restart modeler and layout to see the nurbs division attribute changes.
