View Full Version : Saving an object from an animation scene?.

I created a scene with bullet/parts were a car fell to pieces over 100 frames.
At frame 31 the way the car looked was especialy good.
I thought i would be able to save the car object at frame 31 with all its parts spread nicely.
After saving the object then reloading it into the scene i was dissapointed to find that layout
had save the original complete object and not the exploded version at frame 31.

Is it possible to save an indivdual object from any animation scene wether you use a bullet/parts
feature or not?
Thanks for any info.

You might have more luck if you bake the Bullet animation, then do a save transformed from the appropriate frame in the baked replay.

You tried using saved transform right?

Yes, save trans object is it.

Mdd is also a good option where you can discard the whole bullet dynamics and simulation, then reload back and go to proper frame, or load individual frame.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Looks to be 2 options/suggestions.

Tried the simplest option first "Save transformed" and it worked.
Reloadeing the save transformed object from my bullet/parts scene
[frame 31] showed the displaced car object.
Did the same for car object at frame 60 and that worked also.
Made up!.

The second option ill try tomorrow [Getting late here].
Plus ill need to find my chefs hat as cooking/"baking" is not my forte. :oye:

Seriously though ive never tried baking animation files.
Will spend time learning this as it is about time i did so.
Will also see if i can save my car object from any particular frame after baking.
