View Full Version : "Speaker" objects in Blender.... yoicks!

Perusing the Blender manual (sadly, looking better all the time-- the manual, that is), I stumbled across a reference to 'speakers'. Since it was coupled with 'Lamps' and 'Cameras', it piqued my interest.

Now, it may not be perfect: it's weirdly reminiscent of LW spotlights in terms of parameters :confused: (and I'm pretty sure sound doesn't act like light in very many ways), but it exists and can be improved.

So, since this is the Feature Request forum, I request LW implement 'speaker' objects. If they happened to be compliant with Unity, that would be great.

Look up the old "Soundwave" plugin for LW (http://walen.se/soundwave.html), it offered similar functionality, IIRC. Always kind of thought LW3DG ought to purchase/license that plugin for LW inclusion (adding Mac version shouldn't be too painful).

(edit) Hehe, just noticed same plugin was brought up in your other 3DAudio/VR thread as well.

Just took a quick look: while it seems it would certainly work in renders, my interest is in creating environments for Unity.

I note that one of export formats supports Unreal, so maybe it would.....
