it uses Nvidia physx , I am beta testing , it's pretty good, but still has a long way to go...

unless you have access to the node graph....then no

remember Houdini doesnt necessarily have anything special in terms of rigid body physics solvers, (FEM solver is definitely special) in fact one of its primary physics solvers is Bullet....just like LW.
It's what happens upstream and downstream of the solver.......houdini lets you manipulate each and every aspect of that data in any way you see fit.....you can pass velocity to fluid sims, shaders, ect. You could filter particle velocities through tools designed for compositing operations, drive render parameters, and even generate geometry or volumes through procedural modelling.

A bolt on solver within LW architecture constraints will never have that same level of control.

Not knocking the effort at all......its nice LW developers are stretching the limit
