Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I've been unable to find anything...

I'm planning a short film entirely in CG, and aim to complete each stage myself i.e. script, storyboarding, etc. I could use more info on the stages after storyboarding, and how you should make a start on the animation and models without spending time that may end up being wasteful in retrospect.

If anyone has any links and/or suggested reading material, I'd appreciate it if you've pass them on.

Mike

There is a great book writen by Shamus Cullhane. It's called Animation from Script to Screen. It mainly covers the production stages of Traditional Cel Animation, but if read carefully can also apply to CGI animation. It contains all the basics as well as several production level forms we use in the industry. You will need to adapt them to your production.

Another good text is the The Animation Book by Kit Laybourne, The Digital Edition. They cover most topics in CGI animation production.

Both can be found on line. Good luck send me a link!
