I'm assuming that the selection noted "Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input" would be any sound playout on the PC?

Sort of like Virtual Sound Card?

AFAIK, "Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input" usually means whichever (Input) Recording Device has been selected as the default. If you want "Input" to reflect what you're playing out of the PC, then you need to enable the Stereo Mix recording device (usually hidden because by default it's disabled) and set it as the Default input.

If that doesn't work, you can use VB Cable to create a virtual card to work with NDI Scan Converter. Set VB Cable as your default playback device and configure NDI Scan Converter to use it as it audio source.

I'm seeing "Rec. Playback" on my recording devices. It appears as IDT High Definition Audio Codec. Is that the same as the "Stereo Mix"?

Otherwise, I'll go the route of the VB cable as Kane suggests ...
