View Full Version : Character Studio for Lightwave?

Hi Folks.

I remember seeing this video for the first time back in the late 1990's or there abouts and it totally blew my mind!! I was only starting to get into 3D art and animation at the time with Caligari's TrueSpace. When I saw this, I wanted 3D Studio Max with Character Studio!! I remember pricing it, it was something like IR£3500! I remember putting a small glass coffee jar in a drawer in my bedroom, my goal being to save up each week to get it. I think I managed to save IR£15 before I gave up on the dream. LOL!!

For an old video clip, this is still truly awesome!! I totally love it!! Is there anything like Character Studio for Lightwave?

You just sent me down a two hour long hunt for old Lightwave stuff.
Lightwave has come a long way!

Hey Paul, have you looked at what you can do with Rhiggit 2? This is a very compelling rigging and animation solution for LW.

ikBooster is also cool in that regard,

RHiggit auto rigs allow you to animate manually. It's pretty essential if you do CA in LW. Otherwise Gemoma produces great automated rigs.

yes, but they cannot do that IKB stuff though, i believe...

Personally what kills Lw for character animation it its clunky NLE capabilities for keyframe animation

yep, if i had a list of Layout fixes / updates that would be close to most-wanted feature

however, there are ways about it though.
