For any indies here that might not be aware of this, Houdini (previously $99) is now free: <Link removed for reason below>

Update: It is Engine.. not the full Indie package. I admit... I got click baited by them :/ Oh,well. So I removed the link, so you can avoid being baited as well.

it's not free !

Hello Seghier,

The free Houdini license you downloaded is for running Houdini-Engine-Indie not Houdini-Indie. Houdini-Engine-Indie is a non-graphical version of Houdini-Indie. It does not allow you to open the Houdini interface. It will let you take existing (pre-made) Houdini Digital Assets, (you can get these at Orbolt.com), and load them into other applications such as Maya, Cinema4D, UE4 or Unity. Houdini-Indie is still $199/year. We made Houdini-Engine-Indie free so that artists can more easily share assets that they create in Houdini-Indie with other members of their team.

right now i'm only using the free Houdini Apprentice, nice for testing.
i bought Houdini Indie last year but didn't have enough time to use it / test it.

well $199 per year.

And then if you don't pay up the subs you don't get to open your files anymore.
