View Full Version : Scalar for multiple surfaces (nodes)

I have a lot of surfaces using nodes, they all use the same setup but there are a few scalar constants in there and sometimes I need to change a constant, but I have to do that on every single surface, sometimes 40-50 of them, is there any way to have surface nodes share a constant or some other way to update a constant node in multiple surfaces at the same time ?

Nope, no scalar constants available, (despite many requests to LW3DG). You can use a Null with appropriate item info nodes in each network to change lots of things at once.

Ah, that works pretty ok, it's easy to use iteminfo->rotation->vector_to_scalar->input to get it working, thanks.

You might like to have a look into Global Materials from Trueart (50$):
It allows for using material node setups on multiple surfaces.
