I have a model that has hundreds of surfaces.
I would like to select letīs say 120 surfaces thar are glass surfaces and combine then as 1 glass surface.
Iīm used to polygon statistics and select by surface but how can I select multiple surfaces at the same time?

1324031) In Polygon Mode >Polygon Statistics: select Surface and "+"(to left) and again "+" next surface
2) select polygons
menu^ Selection>Polygon> Select Entire Surf

and https://www.lightwave3d.com/assets/plugins/entry/ef-picksurface/
Picks the surface of a selected polygon in the Surface Editor.

I canīt select next surface by pressing "+" again. Is this a new feature? Iīm usein 11.6.

My problem is that I have in the surface list window001, window002, window003, etc..., window120.
I need to select all "window"-surfaced polygons, but donīt know how to.

This script will prompt you for a search phrase and will select all polygons that have a surface matching the search phrase.
Example: If you have 300 surfaces and half of them are called "wall_01, wall02, wall_3,..."
and you search for 'wall' it will select all of those surfaces while leaving the other half of various named surfaces unselected.

1) In Polygon Mode >Polygon Statistics: select Surface and "+"(to left) and again
select next surface and "+";
"-" deselect surface.

This was a great tip.
Any other ways to make this?

I canīt select next surface by pressing "+" again.

There's a step missing in the instructions.

In the Polygon Statistics panel:
Select a surface from the dropdown.
Press + in the left hand column. Line turns white.
Select another surface in the dropdown.
Press + in the left hand column. That set of polygons is added to the selection.

That is ok, but very much manual work if you have to select ie. 100 surfaces.I was hoping there is a way to select surfaces maybe like shift+click style somehow as with surface editor...

The script worked pretty well. But if you have still tips, please share.

Selects all polys that have the same surface name as the selected poly: Select Polygons By Surface (https://www.lightwave3d.com/static/media/uploads/assets/plugins/entries/4a7531f3/SelBySurface.zip)

you can make a Part from polygons: Detail menu> Parts> Creat Part (for the user choice)
Part from surface: Detail menu> Parts> Surfs to Part > (Material will appear with the selected polygons, as a new surface! It will be seen in the material editor after reboot LWO!)

Try making an Atlas UV map with separate by surface set to %100. That'll more or less make islands out of each. Remember to unweld.
