I want upgrade from Lion to El Capitan on my IMac. Will this affect Lightwave adversely or will there be any problems? The way it is now, it runs perfect. I heard there could possibly be compatibility issues with AE and since I run both I want to avoid reinstalling or bugs that could come up with changing my operating system. Any advice I'd appreciate. Also thanks guys and girls for all the advice you've given me in the past. It's very nice for all of you to take the time out of your schedules to answer questions for those of us who are still learning. A year and a half and there's still much to learn and I sincerely appreciate all the help.

My position has always been: stay with your current OS, if it works with the software you use, until you MUST upgrade, with either a new system, or when software quits working in your current OS, which will ultimately happen unless your hardware fails first. Why borrow trouble before it's absolutely necessary?

I don't know for AE, but I have no problem running LW on El Capitan.

No problem with LW2015.3 on El Capitan. AE 2015, however, is a bag of bollocks regardless of what OS you're on.

Indeed, but Acrobat Pro 9 finally works on El Capitan... only after about 8 years and several OS's:-(

Yep,
Big issues with AE render times I have seen people ripping hair
out in U.K. as time constraints implode on film shorts. The wider proof is on
the Adobe forums with much sorries by the Adobe devs about their engine.

May I suggest Digital Fusion once bundled with LightWave, may
I say that's the smart money, hey they have a free version too.

Not trying to incite a war, just commenting on the OS names. I wish windows would be more creative like that.

Go for it ... I bet you won't regret it. I did upgrade from Snow Leopard to El Capitan and was pleased to see how smooth this went.

Regards and Good Luck!
