Strange, there aren't any weight maps on my model in modeler yet the mesh is still deforming in layout. Is this supposed to happen? I even replaced the mesh with a different mesh that also had no weight maps or even skelegon bones listed in the weight map lister. Still, the mesh is stuck to the bones in layout.

My second question is how do I get this leg to point in a straight line. This is nice action for some poses but not a simple standing pose. When I try to rotate the theigh it just messes up the mesh.
Are my goal nulls messed up?

You don't have to have weightmaps on bones in LW, they can do deformation on their own :)

When you set up an IK hain, it's best to have a slight bend in it (like a knee slightly bent) to inidcate which way the chain should bend when the IK goal moves close to the root of the chain. This might help your joint. Also, turn off IK in the channels you aren't using, for example a knee might only have IK controlling the Pitch rotation. Do this in the motion panel.
