Hello.
I have a model drawn in LW that is 36" high. My 3D printer wants it scaled to 12" high. For some reason when I exported the 36" high model the .STL file I outputted to was less than 1mm!

Here are my options from LW for exporting: http://prntscr.com/9nbep4
Here is the file in 123D that has it at.911" http://prntscr.com/9nbhka

My printer is using SolidWorks and it is also coming in at the .911" size.

Any advise would be truly appreciated! :-)

Regards
Stephen

export units are usually in MM

is your scale in LW metric or imperial....sounds like there is a mismatch in expected units

it's probably the 3D printer software, there should be a setting to say what units to use (because other software doesn't use real-world units so you can make a cube that's 10^3, but 10 what?).

I use a reference object that is sized correctly ..

Load reference object, and compare to modeled Part being exported.

Makerbot 2X Dual Extruder, and I use Simplyfy3D Software, and I run into this problem you have all the time.

The early scripts that did this had a math error in them. I corrected it and posted an updated version of the script.
I don't know if LightWave's internal solution uses the same math, but it's worth a try. It works for me :)
