In most applications, with Lightwave being no exception, saving and deploying a library of poses is a not-so-quick process. These plugins seek to change that and really make pose deployment feel like a seamless, integrated part of the 3d animation workflow.

Link to tools can be found here: http://www.liberty3d.com/store/tools/rr-tools/ (They are bundled with the commercial tools .ZIP file, though they require no activation or purchase to use).

For those curious, the only limitations (for now) are as follows:

- The pose item cannot be a geometry object file.

- The tools are naming-convention sensitive. Eventually I may add a way to determine whether prefix matching/omission should be applied, or add a tool to generate new poses for a differently named item. I'm undecided on the best, most practical approach and need some time to think on it.

- XYZ coordinates are ignored if any XYZ axis is locked. This prevents things like the Genoma2 controllers getting moved if the rig it is applied to is differently sized. This limitation will be removed in the next release.

Hey Ryan, do I just use the key file from previous version?

Also I noticed in my older RRtools that there was a config file for RR_Tools as well as RR_Tool_Pro, but in the update there is only the RR_Tool_Prp config. Does this matter?

I decided it was easier to just bundle all the tools together, and i've de-commissioned some of the now-obsolete, or not-yet-finished plugins.

Currently, the free tools available are Symmetry Edit Mode and Pose Tools (which work quite well together, by the way).

well done.

I'm a huge fan of minimalist plugins, though there are times where complexity is indeed needed (IE: Shift keys plus (http://www.ernestpchan.com/newtek-lightwave-scripts) by Ernest Chan). Simpler things like loading animations or poses should always be a quick, seamless process. The only thing preventing me from making this plugin for motion data is that I can't do relative motions that you can interact with outside of IKBooster via scripting to my knowledge.

UPDATE: Some users are reporting difficulty getting the plugin to save poses, my first guess is write permissions or pathing issues but I'm looking into it.

One last update for now:

RR Tools Pro (Dec 15th build) (http://www.liberty3d.com/Artists/Videos/ryanroye/RR_Tools_Pro/RR_Tools_Pro_12_15_2015.zip)

- Fixed error "cannot determine ID of script" caused by local script referencing.

- Made pose apply not operate on axis channels that are locked. This ensures null-based rigs will only received rotations and movements that were intended to be manipulated, and allows partial pose loading if desired. (NOTE: Bones will still only receive rotations and will not be moved, this is intentional).
