View Full Version : Photoshop PNGs work better for UV surface viewing when saved first by IrfanView

I did a search and read this thread in particular:


If I create a shape in Photoshop, say an oval, and export to PNG for use as a UV texture map - it shows in Modeler (LW2015.3) as a rectangle that roughly matches the oval's bounding box. But if I load and save the PNG from Photoshop in IrfanView, then Modeler shows the oval. It renders correctly in both cases, but it makes placement of the surface much easier if I can see it in Modeler. From that previous thread it looks like this is a PNG format setting issue, so I was wondering if there is an export option in Photoshop (CS5.5) that I should change.

Saving PNGs from PS correctly for LightWave can be done through Save for Web and Devices (Ctrl-Shift-Alt S).
