Hi,

I downloaded a preset from http://3dxyz.pro/ but it doesn't seem to work...
It is a wood preset (wood gloss)
I did a couple of test renders and everytime it turns out black or very dark...
Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Arne

Havenīt looked at it..but guessing her, a lot of the preset materials in there are for the octane plugin, maybe you tried one of those in lightwave only?

It might well be your colour space. Try sRGB.

It might be mine, I used the car paint node. I just loaded that surface onto a cube and it does come out black. Two reasons, A, all the image maps need to be switched to what ever mapping type you want to use, the are defaulted to UV, but you need to set which UV map, and if no UV map, then choose cubic, planer, cylindrical or what ever.

B, the second reason is that it is highly dependent on the reflection of its environment, so put something into the world for it to reflect.

yeah it's a nodal surface preset and it is in sRGB space, also there is a DB&W node in there which is a custom non native LW node need to go download it and install it if you don't have it, it comes as part of a set

Sorry i am on holiday atm...any problems i need to fix when i get back?

Side note I will be realising all presets as one big download .the changes in 2016 will pretty much rewrite the site

No problem, they just needed to adapt the preset to their particular surface as the preset uses image maps for the wood grain.

By the way, you don't have to use the image maps I put in there, they were just to indicate the types of maps needed, you can create your own specific wood grain maps and replace those images.
