If you load this scene and hit PLAY, you should see that the reflector pivots, and a chain of bones deforms the short cord that connects the reflector to the arm of the lamp.

I've been trying to get the cord to deform 'naturally', and to this end there's a secondary Goal null parented to the reflector mesh, although it's not activated here. I'm feeling that there should be a way to Goal some bones mid-way along the bone chain to affect the deformation, but have yet to get it right.

Advice?

but an offset bone near the base of the chain and rotate that, or link its rotation to the lamp head.

So, 1) a secondary goal is not the proper strategy? and: 2) I guess I can use Motion SAI or an expression to follow the rotation of the reflector-- I'm afraid it may have to have some exageration at some poing (ie. non-linear connection).
