View Full Version : Notepad++ users: adding a line??

This is so low level it's confusing, to me at least:

WHen I C&P a line into a Python script in Notepad++, it gets indented the proper amount (i.e. same as the line above) BUT there's a little box with a minus sign to the right of the line numbers, and it seems to regard the new line as indented when it is not, visually.

There's some sort of simple process* to fix this that escapes me right now (I have to discover it everytime anew) , but I'd much rather it not happen at all.

How does one avoid this? It's the darndest thing. :stumped:

EDIT: *the silly process is to indent the whole block, and then UNindent it.

Might depend on what you're actually copy pasting and where you're pasting. I just did a bunch of copy pasting and notepadd++ understood what was meant to be a code block and what wasn't.

ernp, usually it's just a line of code, into a blank line. Yet to determine via the dox what's up.
