Whats wrong with "match viewport perspective" ?
Not a big fan of having an additional camera in the scene, when its not absolutely needed.

but why have "perspective view"... ?

but one could also say >

why not use a "perspective camera" with perspective hotkeys ? after all, you could key that.

right now the perspective is just a temporary thing that cannot be keyed.
neither can you store multiple perspective presets, which i believe would be easier to achieve with a camera >

I'd like BOTH: Camera> Perspective AND Perspective>Camera

Equally useful IMO. Perspective can act as a temporary placeholder while you check another angle.

Perspective view is ALWAYS necessary, imho, to look around your scene without having to deal with moving/keyframing a camera. Don't really see any other way of working. I'm definitely not cluttering up the scene with additional cameras. I suppose cameras are like stored perspectives, but I like the fact that they are separate things altogether.

the Perspective Cam will have auto-keyframe turned off by default

it won't, it will work like the Perspective View
a click of a button however can make it a standard camera

it should also be able to move both like the current Camera panning, and like the current Perspective panning
Camera panning is now = SpaceToggle and Mouse
Perspective panning is now = Ctrl,Alt,Shift and Mouse

Well you ablte to assign the current view to a camera / keyframe different positions now... but I see what you are after.
As for preseting views, mhmm, not a bad idea
