I just recently played around with the 3D text creation tools in Photoshop, and then imported the geometry into LW. I just though that it's another alternative workflow for when the client wants to change the kerning, font, bevels and so on, you can do all that in the photoshop document quickly with nice feedback and then swap out the geometry in your Lightwave scene.

Just another way to get around the current inefficiency of the native text tools. You might have the scene set up with animation and the client needs to change something about the text, you do that in the original Photoshop document and bring it back into your scene.

Interesting --- good workaround.

Nice, haven't tried it for a while, thanks for the reminder! It's pretty sad that you get better bevelling/live/parametric options in a primarily 2d app :-/

This is interesting - what version of Photoshop / CS are you using?
and could you post some 'Wireframe' render showing polygon density

The difference between a 2d and 3d app is getting smaller and smaller. LW needs to stay innovative and relevant or other apps will take its place in some pipelines.
