Here are my 4 X-Wings. (Note: the pilots and R2 units are from the Sci-Fi Star Wars Web Site).

The Pics in order are:
Red Leader, Red 3, Red 5, and Red 6.... And then there is a close up of the pilot of Red 6 (Porkins..... He is not from the Sci-Fi site)

Awesome! Very good modeling and texturing. It would be cool to see them in a space environment.:D

Nice pig.

The x-wings look nice too.

First of all they look great! Very nice.

Second of all, poor Porkins! He'll never live down his little weight problem. :p

I LOVE IT! The X-wing is my favorite sci-fi ship, and you've done a great job with the modeling and the textures!

Now, download the deathstar trench and render this with motion blur! :D :D

Probably the best X-Wings I've ever seen. ILM quality.( I noticed that you didn't show R2 in the red5 though).

Thank you everyone,

These are actually "mid Poly" X-wings. They are not very detailed. The textures take up much of the slack. I wanted to keep render times below 2 minutes a frame with motion blur on. Since I won't be rendering anything larger than 880X400, this level of detail is a good compromise.

Sincerely, Scott

As regards Porkins...
P I G S I N S P A C E . . .

Heh :D

(So, where's Miss Piggys X-Wing ;) )

Why does the one gun in the 3rd render look like a blue and white candycane?

I love the xwing models, they have always been one of my favorite space vehicles.

Good observation, I had to do a double take but yep, you're right.

The blue and white "Candy Stripes" are on the real ILM model. See them in the picture below?

I know better then to get into a nit-picky argument about Star Wars. Regardless about what's "right", your renders aren't consistent. Only one had the candycane.

I think that they are supposed to be 3 different ships. That may be why they are not consistent.

Point taken, but the ones in the render are a little "strong", the ones on the ILM model are more faded and affected by the 'dust' colouring on the gun. Not to take anything away from the work though, very nice! :)

I really like the textures.

Good looking XWings. I like your textures.

It made me think about one that I had done in Inspire3d. I cheated on mine though and tinted the windows to hide the lack of a cockpit interior.

I recently did a 3 minute animation in Lightwave7 with this XWing fighting 3 ATATs which I though turned out pretty well. File size is too large to post though.
