View Full Version : Impressed with the difference in resolution

Dear Lightwave Friends:

For a long time, I rendered all my anims in 640x480 resolution.
I recently had the (great) idea to render at a higher resolution just for fun.
Look at my surprise when the animation looks a million times better.
Also is gone the little flickering in pixels I used to get.
I am very impressed with the difference.
Needless to say, from now on I will only render at a higher resolution.
MY pc is very fast with lw 9.6
and it can easily handle to render at a higher resolution.
I am very happy, I am really thankful lightwave can render at
higher resolutions.

I'm glad you come to this conclusion. Keep on rendering in higher resolution, your work will only look better.
I would say that with todays standard that a resolution of 1280*720 is a minimum. I can't remember when I last did a render in 640*480...must been like 10 years ago.

FWIW, I sometimes do 640x480 to preview animations that are too clunky to preview realtime.

The only reason I wanted a pc video toaster was to up the resolution of the animation.
But now I found out I can easily do it with just lightwave.
I am very happy: lightwave can easily handle the higher resolution.

You can create an animation in full 4K film res if you'd like - finding something to play it back might be more difficult :)
