Today I just found out that James Horner tragicly was killed monday the 22 of june in a plane crash.

Loved some of his score, especially braveheart, a beautiful mind and aliens..

Maybe the spirit of his Beautiful mind and music will go on ..and on somewhere...

RIP James Horner.

One of my guilty pleasure movies is Brainstorm.
I LOVE the string quartet.

Yes..forgot he did that one too, it may actually be the first movie I heard him in though, very beautiful but also very scary at the part when the femal scientist getīs a heart attack and dies then records it all..
so he had both the beautiful etheral elements as being able to perform scary parts, which suited well in Aliens too...even if he was overbooked at that time and left the music for others to edit I think.

I love the cocoon soundtrack as well...

Avatar I think he went more unusual in the score ...perhaps more experimental, personally I wasīt fond of the results there, but you got to try sometime and do different.

Luckily he got to the point in his career where he could pick and chose the projects he wanted to work on.
It seems as if he had gotten started on Avitar 2 & 3. I wonder how far he got and how much will be used.
