Putting together a new workstation. Looking at SLI Titan X`s.

Has anyone tried SLI setups with LW? Did it turn out the way you hoped?

Thanks in advance

they would be good if you plan to get Octane to render.

And not in a SLI set up if that's the case...

Watch out ,at the moment RAM on each does not run together on alot of sims in most apps
i.e. you can't run say Turbulence across Two Cards for a Big Sim Ram usage.

contact Jasha & or Juanjo for a timeframe guess on a fix from nvidia. They may have contact.

SLI doesn't do a thing for GPU renderers, and sometimes it can hinder them. SLI is for games. Renderers don't work that way.

I noticed the current (August 2015, pages 20-21) issue of Custom PC has reviewed the 540 GTX 980 Ti and makes two interesting conclusions, admittedly with gaming in mind (but 6GB GDDR5 is still a huge hunk of RAM):
1) the 980 Ti "makes the Titan X redundant" in terms of performance, future proofing, price
2) hold off making a purchase if possible, to see what impact AMD's R9 300 has
I have a pair of 780 Ti cards that I use with Octane and I'm very pleased with the performance. For now I can only dream about adding a 980 Ti and the effect it would have, but at that price, the dream is a little closer...
