Any guesses on the s/w and rendering they used on this animation.

ALSO!: I've wondered for A Long Time, where is this kind of 'bland power rock' music track acquired?

I could be wrong, but I believe it is the work of okan170 who does stuff for NASA. He uses Maya and Mental Ray. Some of the models he uses were Lightwave originally so I guess a previous NASA animator contractor used LW.

There are many royalty free music sites with premiumbeat.com having a good choice of various genre tracks at a affordable price.

Whoever it is really knows what they're doing.

It's well done, although I'd believe it more if there were greater differences between the trajectories of the two boosters. Doesn't mean it's inaccurate.

EDIT: oh, and I think there will be a LOT more flame at launch. Or at least more steam.

It's made by 4dartist with LightWave. I'll leave it to him if he wants to share the details more publically.

Hmmmmm....top part of this rocket (2/3 from the tip) reminds me something, but I'm not quite sure what....
